Walker Area Food Shelf gives thanks for summer support

The Walker Area Food Shelf will be celebrating 30 years of service as a registered nonprofit next year and Executive Director Chad Trapier wants to share a message.

“We have seen an overwhelming increase in visits to our food shelf this year, and we know that’s not the first time we’ve said that. At least twice a month since March, we set a new record: most spent on food, most families served, pounds of food purchased, and the list goes on,” Trapier said. “We’ve also seen the most participation from the community in recent years. Our Board members, myself, and the people we serve want to thank the community of Walker for supporting our mission and helping our neighbors in a time of need.”
